Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has been appointed by United Utilities to its Commercial Consultancy Framework.
Following a competitive tender process, the Company has secured one of four places on Lot 2 to provide Commercial and Capital Delivery Resource support. The £110 million framework is proposed to run for 10 years, with an option to extend the appointment to 2035 following an initial five-year period.
United Utilities owns or manages 56,000 hectares across the region and its AMP8 programme is set to be the largest investment in water and wastewater infrastructure in the North East of England for more than a century.
Both of United Utilities’ upcoming AMP programmes will involve significant capital investments across its networks. The water company has a purpose to provide great water to support a stronger and healthier North West, while having priorities to improve river health, enable greater value for its customers, and create a greener future for communities.
A greener, stronger future for the North West
On Lot 2, Stantec will provide extensive end-to-end project, programme, and risk management consultancy and planning services throughout AMP8 and potentially into AMP9. This will involve working closely with United Utilities to develop, plan, initiate, and deliver projects and programmes via strategic advisory services, while working as part of an integrated supply chain team. Stantec will also work with key supply chain partner Solomons Europe to provide United Utilities with additional pre- and post-contract quantity surveying, procurement, and commercial services.
This appointment marks the latest AMP8 framework Stantec has secured with United Utilities in the past 12 months having been appointed onto Network Modelling and Capital Delivery Partnership framework.
