Quartet of promotions for flood risk consultancy

Midlands-based environmental consultancy, GeoSmart Information has announced four promotions.

As part of the business’ continued team investment and wider growth plans, Wajid Wastakaran has been promoted to Principal Drainage Engineer, David South to Principal Consultant, Alex Farr to Project Consultant, and Lily Jordan to Marketing Manager.

It comes in line with a surge in demand for GeoSmart’s flood risk services from architects, planners, and surveyors, as well as major project wins linked to Section 19 flood investigations and environmental due diligence supported by its newly developed FloodSmart Analytics tool.

A civil engineer with nine years’ experience, Wajid Wastakaran has been promoted following his work on drainage system designs for numerous projects since he joined the consultancy in 2022.

David South’s progression comes as a result of his growth within the operations team from Environmental Consultant in 2017. South is now responsible for managing drainage design operations.

Project Consultant Alex Farr has moved up the ranks from Environmental Consultant in just over a year at GeoSmart, following his time at the University of Manchester where he gained a BSC in Geology and an MSC in Pollution and Environmental Control.

Finally, Lily Jordan has progressed to the role of Marketing Manager after originally joining the company’s sales team in 2017.

Paul Ellis, GeoSmart’s Managing Director, said:

“Investing in talented people is extremely important to us as a business and ensures we can provide our clients with the very best service. Wajid, David, Alex and Lily have contributed significantly to GeoSmart, growing accordingly as the needs of the market and our clients have evolved. I’m really pleased to be able to celebrate their achievements.”
