Vicky Gray joins Bruton Knowles as Associate, strengthening CPO expertise in the East of England

Bruton Knowles has announced the appointment of Vicky Gray as an Associate who will be based from its Bury St. Edmunds hub. Vicky joins the National Utilities & Infrastructure Team, bringing significant experience from her previous role with the Cayman Islands Government, where she specialised in property acquisitions, valuations, and compensation claims.

During her tenure in the Cayman Islands, Vicky worked on a range of property-related matters for the government, including valuations, leasing, and managing property acquisitions and disposals. Her experience includes handling compensation claims for the National Roads Authority, which directly aligns with her new responsibilities at Bruton Knowles. In her new role, she will focus on the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) process and managing compensation claims for the firm’s clients.

Commenting on her new position, Vicky Gray said: “I have a broad background in property and am now focusing on CPO and compensation claims—an area of increasing importance in the UK. I look forward to further developing my expertise and delivering results for Bruton Knowles’ clients.”

Beyond her professional qualifications, Vicky is also an accomplished basketball player, having represented England and Great Britain at international levels. Most recently, she competed with the Cayman Islands National Team at the 2023 NatWest Island Games, where the team secured a silver medal.

“Basketball has been an important part of my life, and now that I am back in the UK, I will continue to pursue both my sporting and professional goals,” Vicky added.

Bruton Knowles has facilitated flexible working arrangements under its Work Your Way policy, enabling Vicky to balance her surveying role with her athletic commitments. Her location in Bury St. Edmunds also places her in close proximity to Ipswich, where she continues to play basketball for the highly successful Endeavour Ipswich Basketball Club.

She added: “Bruton Knowles has been great in allowing me the flexibility to pursue both surveying and basketball. The new Bury St. Edmunds hub is perfectly located for me, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead.”

James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles, commented: “Vicky’s appointment brings additional expertise to our team, particularly in the CPO and compensation claims area. Her professional skills, coupled with her commitment to excellence, will be an asset to our operations in East Anglia, where we continue to expand our service offering.”

Vicky’s initial focus will be to strengthen Bruton Knowles’ client relationships in East Anglia, a region where the firm has recently reached a significant milestone, having worked on projects valued at over £1 billion.
