Awards shortlist success in the British Construction Industry Awards

Avove has been shortlisted, alongside their partner Ecofill, in the prestigious British Construction Industry 2024 Awards for an innovative approach to soil management, which has been successfully launched at the at the Vyrnwy Aqueduct Modernisation Programme, in Cheshire.

The British Construction Industry Awards are the most prestigious awards in the construction and built environment sector that seek to recognise and reward excellence in project delivery and, crucially, positive societal impact.

Avove and Ecofill’s partnership provided alternative solutions for on-site subsoil treatment, addressing existing site ground conditions by processing and transforming clays and subsoils into fully certified aggregate replacement products. Known as The Soil Management Initiative, this approach sets new industry standards providing real opportunities to significantly reduce the need for imported and exported aggregates. The initiative offers substantial reductions in CO2 emissions, road traffic, noise pollution, social disruption, and costs, while providing environmentally friendly solutions

The Soil Management Initiative exemplifies innovative collaboration in the UK construction industry, dramatically transforming traditional soil management practices. Following its successful inaugural implementation at the Vyrnwy Aqueduct, this ground-breaking technology is now being adopted across the construction sector, underpinned by high-quality assurance standards. Avove say they remain committed to testing and challenging existing engineering standards to advance the application of Ecofill products in the pursuit of low-carbon, environmentally sustainable solutions.
