Dr. Torsten Wintergerste, a visionary leader with extensive international experience, has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer of CERAFILTEC.

During his tenure as President of Sulzer Chemtech AG, a world leader in separation and mixing technologies for exploration, refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, he significantly enhanced the company’s global operations, market presence and strategic impact. His efforts resulted in doubling the company’s business volume to 900 million euros and boosting its profitability to a double-digit percentage. CERAFILTEC believe his international involvement and strong relationships with global industry leaders will further strengthen their mission to provide clean water everywhere, sustainably, worldwide.

As CERAFILTEC prepares for its next phase of growth, Dr. Wintergerste’s extensive experience in driving international expansion will be crucial in meeting the increasing market needs. Ceramic membrane technology is poised to become the mainstream filtration solution, replacing polymeric membranes and conventional technologies. As a key driver of this technological transition, CERAFILTEC will greatly benefit from Dr. Wintergerste’s expertise in scaling operations to support this evolution.

“CERAFILTEC’s journey from a pioneering start-up to a transformative key player in water filtration has been inspiring and was a key factor in my decision to join the company,” said Wintergerste. “I am honored to lead the passionate and talented team as we embark on this exciting phase, building on a solid foundation and aiming for even greater global impact.”

Kay Gunther Gabriel, founder and CTO of CERAFILTEC, expressed his full support for this transition:

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Wintergerste, whose international experience and proven track record in scaling organizations, as well as his leadership in building persistent innovation and sustainable growth, make him a perfect fit for our next phase of expansion. We look forward to reaching new heights under his guidance.”
