JDP appoints new National Operations Manager

JDP (John Davidson Pipes), a leading provider of drainage pipe systems and water management solutions, has announced the promotion of Laura Thomson to National Operations Manager.

Laura will be supporting the company on its continued growth trajectory exploring new opportunities for its core product ranges; ULTRA3 adoptable sewer system, AXEDO inspection chambers, and RAINBOX attenuation and infiltration crates designed for flood management.

In her new senior management role, Laura will strategically head up the JDP merchant branch network focussing on developing her teams, including the new flagship Leeds-Bradford operation. With over 22 years’ experience at JDP, Laura will share her extensive knowledge to nurture team members’ growth and excellence.

Laura is also committed to broadening the range of services JDP offers its customers and plans to introduce new technology to enhance the customer experience, making it more efficient and seamless. In addition, Laura will look to implement innovative and simplified ways of working to optimise productivity for all stakeholders.

Speaking about her new position Laura said:

This company has been my professional home for over two decades, and I’ve had the privilege of growing with it every step of the way. I’m excited to lead my teams, share my skills, and work towards providing our customers with an even ‘smarter’ experience. I’m looking forward to contributing to the company’s growth and be a part of this journey.”

Laura brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the company having started her journey with JDP straight out of school. Having joined the team at Head Office in Carlisle as a Finance Trainee, she progressed through various roles, including Purchase Ledger and Credit Control, completing her AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications.

Relocating to Manchester in 2013, she began working in Internal Sales and quickly progressed to the position of Regional Sales Office Supervisor, before being appointed Customer Experience Manager for the North and Southwest in 2015. In 2021, Laura took on the role of DC Manager, overseeing vital distribution centre operations. Now, in 2023, she has stepped into her new role as National Operations Manager.

On the task ahead Laura commented:

“I am passionate about the work I do, always striving to give my best. Now is the right time for me to take on new challenges, which also give me the opportunity to help my team grow and develop too.”

Laura’s wealth of experience and strategic vision make her an indispensable asset to JDP. Her appointment marks a significant stride towards the company’s continuous growth and advancement within the industry.
