Ovarro leakage service centre increases European capacity

Technology company Ovarro has opened a new leakage service centre for European customers, based at the company’s manufacturing facility in Steenwijk, Netherlands.

The Ovarro European Service Centre is a dedicated hub for repairs, services and testing of all leakage equipment in mainland Europe. A new team of repair and service engineers is based at the facility, which also comprises a warehouse, offices and reception area.

The Steenwijk facility becomes Ovarro’s second European repair centre, alongside its site in Denmead, UK. Adding repair capacity and employing new staff will mean a faster, more efficient service for customers in Netherlands, France and Belgium and the rest of the European mainland.

Katie Good, vice president operations at Ovarro, said:

“Leakage reduction remains a priority for European water utilities, with companies working to achieve their own regulatory targets, alongside new leakage requirements in the revised European Drinking Water Directive.

“The launch of Ovarro’s European Service Centre and is great news for our customers, who can now expect a faster turnaround of repairs and services of all leakage equipment, enabling them to continue to manage their networks efficiently, and minimise water loss in line with requirements.

“By integrating our repairs and manufacturing operations at Steenwijk, we have created a flagship, centralised site to serve the water market in mainland Europe more efficiently. Ovarro’s mainland European operations are growing, as such, we have further plans to expand the Steenwijk site to meet water market demands and will be increasing resource and skills over the coming period.”

Ovarro’s Steenwijk manufacturing facility has a long history in the design and production of telemetry, data acquisition and automation and management systems, as well as monitoring, controlling and alarming for the water market. Products manufactured onsite include the Enigma leak loggers and SCOPE telemetry system.
