Pennon tops FTSE Women Leaders Review for second year

Pennon has been recognised as a leading business for female representation for the second year in a row.

The FTSE Women Leaders Review is an independent report, supported by the Government, which helps Britain’s largest companies to improve the representation of Women on Boards and in Leadership positions.

Pennon, which provides drinking water and wastewater services to 3.5 million customers across the Great South West, held its leading position, achieving 1st place in the Utilities sector.

Adele Barker, Chief People Officer at Pennon, said:

“We are incredibly proud to have so much diversity within our business and we know from experience that balanced teams are better at solving complex problems, delivering innovative solutions, spotting new opportunities, as well as being powerful drivers of resilience.”

“We are one of the few FTSE 250 with both a female CEO and Chair. We hope that by promoting gender equality and diversity in our sector will inspire women to pursue leadership roles and consider a career in our fascinating industry.”

The report tracks the progress being made in breaking down barriers to progression of talented women into directorships and senior executive roles.

In terms of Women on Boards, the report revealed that 55.6% of Pennon Board members are women.
