After last year’s focus on environmental delivery, the Water Equipment Show organiser has maintained their reputation for agenda-setting themes and thought leadership, with this year’s conference putting the spotlight on driving efficiency.
The 2022 show theme ‘The drive to Net Zero – Opportunities for all’ aligned perfectly with Water UK’s Net Zero 2030 Route Map which unveiled a ground-breaking plan to deliver a net zero water supply by 2030. Delegates benefited from the depth of knowledge available in the technical rooms and on exhibition stands and they were able to discuss and share strategies. It became clear that companies were keen to discover how others were prioritising innovation and the steps being taken to secure a net zero carbon future.
Now, water industry regulator Ofwat has highlighted a number of key messages about the expenditure assessment for PR24, including a key requirement for the water companies to deliver that step change in efficiency.
In response, WES2023 has chosen ‘Delivering a Step Change in Efficiency’ as its technical theme. Operating efficiently is a prime objective for any business, be it a water company, a manufacturer, or a supplier. In recent times, traditional drivers to improve efficiency, such as financial, resources, and legislative requirements, have been expanded to include environmental considerations, especially in terms of reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.
There are many routes to delivering this for any business, product or service and the WES2023 conference will focus on these, including the roles of new technology, innovative solutions and customer/supply chain partnerships.
Through events such as WES2023, The Pump Centre is ideally placed to highlight how the whole industry can work more effectively together to better tackle these challenges, explained Pump Centre Manager John Howarth: “Step change cannot be delivered in isolation. WES 2023 will provide the perfect opportunity for companies to discuss the route they are taking to deliver improved efficiency and discuss how their innovative solutions and customer/supply chain partnerships have been successful.”
The show opens at 8:30am on Thursday 11 May 2023. There is free access to all the technical areas for pre-registered delegates. There are over 1,000 free car parking spaces adjacent to the venue and complimentary refreshments will be available during the day, subject to availability.
