Anglian Water appoints Atkins on specialist framework to support digital focus

Atkins, part of the SNC-Lavalin Group, has been appointed by Anglian Water to its Asset Management Specialist Consultancy Framework, providing a range of technical services for its physical and digital assets through both the General Asset Management and Core Modelling lots.

Building on a relationship stretching over 20 years, Atkins will significantly expand its consultancy services for Anglian Water to deliver a much broader base of general asset management services, encompassing strategic advisory and regulatory expertise and systems thinking.

It will also include data and information asset management reflecting Anglian Water’s focus on capitalising opportunities to improve its performance through the use of digital twins and technology.

In addition Atkins will support Anglian Water’s Love Every Drop environmental agenda through greater evaluation and analysis of climate and biodiversity data, integrated catchment management and Sustainable Drainage to help bring social and environmental prosperity to the region they serve.

Richard Whale, Water Market Director for Atkins, said:

“The water sector is realising the value of data and digital asset management in unlocking better performance and greater efficiency, and Anglian Water is well-positioned to build on its existing use of technology.

“Having supported Anglian Water for many years through our core modelling services and most recently in the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, this appointment progresses our long-standing relationship and reflects our expertise in connecting people, data and technology to support the most complex projects.

“Anglian Water’s core objectives are to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region, and technology will be fundamental to realising these.”

Boyd Miller, Framework Manager for Anglian Water, added:

“Atkins has been a long-term business partner, but we were really impressed with the fresh thinking and approaches to areas such as systems thinking and digital asset management.

“Given the team’s track record in delivering on previous frameworks and supporting Anglian Water’s business, I have full confidence in Atkins to deliver on this new framework with the expanded scope of services.”
