Hydrosave AES brings innovative pCAT pipe condition assessment technology to the UK

Hydrosave, a specialist in the field of leak detection, has reached an agreement with Australian company Detection Services Pty Ltd to become the exclusive UK operator of pCAT™.

pCAT™ is used to perform non-invasive, non-destructive pipe condition assessments using existing assets that allow access to the water column.

The technology can determine remaining wall thickness along sections of pipeline as well as detecting and locating defects such as air and gas pockets, internal blockages, restrictions and other deliverables such as changes in material and diameters.

Matt Foster, Water Services Director at Hydrosave AES commented:

“Our exclusive partnership with Detection Services Pty Ltd. to bring pCAT™ to the UK will enable us to amplify our focus on pipeline data and deterioration modelling. Periodic repeat testing with pCAT™  will allow us to clearly demonstrate asset deterioration with the goal of providing an enhanced service to our clients.

“pCAT™ expands upon our current condition assessment services, enabling us to offer a proven technique to identify areas of deterioration to our clients, without the need for network disruption or expensive and time-consuming enabling works.

“It will also help us accurately identify pipes that require our forensic condition assessment and remaining asset life pipe scans.  This will allow our clients to do more condition assessment, focused forensic inspections, and make informed decisions that will deliver less disruption and ultimately an improved service to their customers.”

Chris Evans, Chief Operations Officer at Detection Services Pty Ltd added:

“We are pleased to partner with Hydrosave AES to deliver the industry leading pCAT™ solution. Our decision to partner with Hydrosave AES is based on the commonality of values and principles shared with Detection Services to ensure that the very best outcomes are delivered for our respective clients.”
