Organisations working across the water management industry can now benefit from an innovative new water testing solution, thanks to water analysis technology pioneer Palintest.
UK-headquartered Palintest has developed Lumiso Expert, a multi-parameter benchtop photometer designed as an accurate, all-round solution for water analysis in challenging environments.
Lumiso Expert allows staff to conduct testing multiple times per day, across key routine troubleshooting parameters, with little or no training.
Headquartered in Gateshead, UK, Palintest manufactures equipment for water quality monitoring and disinfection control.
It is an international leader in water analysis technology for water and wastewater management, with an established market presence in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia.
Lumiso Expert’s large touchscreen interface helps users to conduct water quality tests in a few simple steps, to obtain reliable, professional standard results.
Test methods can be learned quickly and conveniently without the use of a manual, and Palintest’s portable solution can be used in situ, as close as needed to a sampling site.
Palintest Expert has an IP67 rated waterproof design, which means it can be operated in wet and humid environments and does not require laboratory-grade handling.
It is impact tested to IK08 as part of EN61010 and has a scratch and chemical resistant coating fitted to the screen.
Palintest’s new, UK-manufactured solution offers data traceability for audit compliance purposes, and results are retrieved via Palintest Connect, the company’s cloud-based data management software.
Lumiso Expert enables testing and analysis to be carried out with a single piece of equipment. It covers a range of more than 71 parameters including ammonia, bromine, chloride, free chlorine, total chlorine, copper, fluoride and iron.
Mark Davison, managing director at Palintest said:
“Lumiso Expert is the next step in the evolution of water analysis technology for the water industry.
“It has been designed to tackle the frustrations and complexity often associated with water testing and provide confidence in the accuracy and reliability of results.”
Joshua Gledhill, product manager at Palintest, added:
“We have drawn on decades of R&D experience work and practical industry feedback from the water industry to develop this flexible, intuitive and robust solution.
“It is suitable for users with little or no expertise in water chemistry, as well as more experienced staff, and allows testing and analysis to be performed wherever it is required.
“Lumiso Expert can save users valuable time, while providing water management organisations with an audit trail and valuable peace of mind.”
Palintest’s solutions for the water utilities sector also include Kemio™ Heavy Metals which provides a simple method of testing for lead in water using a portable device. This test doesn’t require any specialist training, can be performed on-site within three minutes and gives accurate results even with low concentrations of lead. It allows water utilities to carry out testing at consumers’ taps and efficiently and quickly identify corroded pipelines.
In addition, Palintest offers Kemio™ Disinfection, which also provides a simple and portable method of testing for several parameters in water such as free chlorine, total chlorine, chlorine dioxide, chlorite and peracetic acid. The parameters are measured using single use sensors which are pre-calibrated and don’t require any specialist training to perform the test. This has been designed to remove human error from the testing process, in order to generate consistent and reliable results.
Palintest’s range also includes Turbimeter Plus, which combines testing for turbidity and TSS on one instrument.
Established in the UK in 1989, but with a history dating back to the 1800s, Palintest has pioneered techniques and technology used in pool and spa water analysis, water management, the food and beverage industry and humanitarian aid.
The company supports water utilities providers, and water management and wastewater personnel, in meeting regulatory requirements and ensuring water is safe for use and distribution.
Palintest has worked alongside the water industry for decades and has developed cutting-edge, reliable and accurate technology shaped to the sector’s evolving requirements.
Water management personnel can draw on Palintest’s specialist expertise to support them in water analysis operations, which helps then to solve challenges and operate more efficiently.
