SES Water welcomes new company Chairman

SES Water welcomes Dave Shemmans as its new non-executive Chair of the Board, who takes over from Jeremy Pelczer after nine years in the role.

Dave brings a wealth of consulting and management experience from both listed and private companies and was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Ricardo plc, a global engineering strategic and environmental engineering consultancy.

Having joined the SES Water Board as a non-executive director in 2014, Dave also holds a degree in electronics and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School.

The Company has shared its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Jeremy Pelczer for his commitment, expertise and stewardship over the years as Chair, where he helped steer SES Water through three price review periods.

SES Water Chair, Dave Shemmans, said: “I’m delighted and feel privileged to hold this position at such a great company. The culture at SES is strengthened by brilliant people who all know the important role they each have in supplying high quality water to our customers. As we get ready to embark on PR24 I look forward to continuing the important focus on our public and environmental value, while making sure our water remains affordable for all.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jeremy for the past eight years and can’t thank him enough for his leadership and guidance during his time as Chair. He is a class act and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Jeremy Pelczer said: “I look back on the past nine years with very fond memories and pride at what the Company has achieved in that time. While there is always some sadness in moving on, and I will certainly miss the people in the business, it is the right time to move on after three consecutive terms of 3 years each and I know the future at SES is a bright one with Dave taking the baton. It is extremely encouraging for me to know that, with Dave as Chair, the business is in safe hands and I will be excited to follow the Company’s future success.”
