Saxlund senior appointment supports European expansion strategy in water sector

Saxlund – the Europewide environmental technology group – has announced the appointment of Lee Mountford, as new Projects and Business Development Manager to further develop the Group’s expansion of the water and wastewater processing sector. This market segment is predicted to reach a total value of [*] $7.09 billion by 2026.

Lee has many years of process knowledge and experience in the UK and international water, waste and industrial sectors including business development at Alfa Laval and joins Saxlund to support the continued growth of the wastewater business in the UK and Europe.

Lee will be based out of the UK office in Winchester, Hampshire, with responsibility for a portfolio of new programme development and customer engagement working with colleagues across Saxlund’s group offices in UK, Germany and Sweden, servicing markets Europewide.

[**] Data from the European Environment Agency (EAA) shows that waste water collection and treatment are improving across Europe, but large differences remain. Across the whole EU, about 90% of urban waste waters are collected and treated in accordance with the EU Waste Water Treatment Directive, focused on wastewater treatment targets, protection of sensitive water systems, use of waste water sludge, and greenhouse gas emissions from the waste water treatment sector.

Lee added: “Saxlund’s aim is to support water companies and help them to meet stringent targets through deploying our proven industry-leading technologies. The business is ideally placed to provide solutions Europewide, with centres of excellence in our three group businesses and expertise gained from projects throughout the continent, working direct with water companies or with contractors and consulting engineers.”

“Backed by his strong knowledge of dewatering, conveying, cake handling and storage and tertiary treatment in wastewater, we are excited to have Lee join the company and support the delivery of projects and developing new business,” explained Matt Drew, Managing Director of Saxlund’s UK business.
